I’ve always known that I was different. No one told me, and they never treated me differently, and all in all, I seemed pretty normal. All I was to other people was a normal teenager from San Diego. But that was on the outside. On the inside I’ve always known that I wasn’t like the other children I was raised with. See, my parents adopt kids, but they don’t get them from foster homes, they get them from troubled families in our city. The other kids are always wild, if they’re not spray painting walls and doing drugs, then they’re either trying to fit in or fixing their social lives, or simply trying to get one.
